Kiendl calls for a beer after 24 hours

WINNER OF THE 2007 SCOTT 24 HOUR MOUNTAINBIKE CHAMPIONSHIPS

German mountain bike rider Alexandra Kiendl only wanted a Australian beer after she crossed the line at the Scott 24 hour Mountain Bike Championships in Canberra today. The 34 year old suffered from the freezing temperature throughout the night. “I had everything on everything I owned,” she said. Kiendl competed 23 laps finishing 48 minutes in front of nearest rival, Justine Leahy (Coffs Harbour).

After travelling around the world, I came to Melbourne/Australia in 2002 where I have been working as an Architect until 2009.

I then moved to Vorarlberg in Austria - only to fulfill another of my dreams - to live near the mountains.

But missing the live-style of a city, made me move on. This time my choice fell on Munich, where I am now living since September 2011 - in a city close to the mountains.

My enthusiasm for life is deep seated in my love of nature, sport and adventure.

With Mountainbike riding I am able to combine all of them.

I have a proven track of success as a cyclist competing at elite level since 1999 until 2010.
My success was certainly inspired by my goals and the love of sport, which has shown my potential in Enduro racing and achieving regularly Podium results.

Sport is my passion, although I do now prefer to leave competing to others.
